Lake Nakuru National Park


Lake Nakuru National Park is an attraction in Nakuru situated in the Great Rift Valley, approximately 160 kilometers northwest of Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya. The park is known worldwide for its large flocks of flamingos which cover the edge of the lake making it appear pink as thousands of greater and lesser flamingos gather to feed, creating a breathtaking spectacle. The Lake Nakuru national park is also home to over 50 mammal species, including lions, leopards, rhinos, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, and various antelope species. It also hosts a significant population of both the endangered black rhinos and the southern white rhinos.
In addition to wildlife viewing and birdwatching, Lake Nakuru National Park offers various activities for visitors. These include guided game drives, nature walks, and picnicking. The park's scenic beauty and the presence of abundant wildlife make it a popular destination for photographers and nature enthusiasts. The park entry fee to Lake Nakuru national park is 70 dollars for non-residents and Ksh 860 for local citizens. The charges, which are normally published on the KWS website can vary on different seasons of the year.
There are several hotels in Lake Nakuru National Park including Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge, The Cliff, Lake Nakuru Lodge, Sarova Lions Hill, and Lake Nakuru Flamingo Camp. The hotels have great views of the lake, especially The Cliff  Nakuru and Sopa Lodges.
