Lake Bogoria


Lake Bogoria is located in Baringo in the Great Rift Valley of Kenya, East Africa. It is located about 83km from Nakuru city which is 90 minutes drive from Nakuru town. It is known for its beauty and unique geological features, as well as its rich biodiversity. The Lake is part of the Kenyan Rift Valley, a tectonic depression characterized by volcanic activity and geological instability. The lake's formation is attributed to the upwelling of hot springs and geothermal activity in the region.  It is famous for its geysers and hot springs, with the most notable being the "Devil's Kitchen," where boiling water and steam erupt from the ground. The hotsprings are also a major tourist site where visitors boil eggs over the hot water.
Lake Bogoria is renowned for its large population of lesser flamingos and other bird species including pelicans, cormorants, herons, and numerous other waterfowl. It also surrounded with grasslands and acacia woodlands support various mammals, including zebras, gazelles, warthogs, and baboons. The park entry fee for lake Bogoria is 50 dollars for non-residents. This fee may change depending on season of the year
